Assessing integration of gender in climate adaptation
Advancing gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls is one of the cross-cutting principles of Adaptation Fund focused on action, innovation and learning. The Fund contracted EnGen Collaborative to conduct a study taking a comprehensive look at projects financed by the Adaptation Fund to increase learning integrating gender equality in projects. The study provides case examples to serve as sources of ideas and recommendations for future climate adaptation projects, in how integrating gender considerations in project design can yield better adaptation results and serve to implement the Paris Agreement, while simultaneously promoting greater gender equality in the communities that benefit from these projects.
